Literature Text

Let me see you smile mo gràidh,
So I can try and remember the sunlight,
Cast by my mother's laughter.

Let me see you dance mo gràidh,
So I can try and remember the spotlight
And my sister's graceful footstep.

Let me see you wish mo gràidh,
So I can try and remember the night,
Waiting for my shooting star.

Let me see you gaze mo gràidh,
So I can try and remember the horizon,
Wondering about the distant lands.

Let me see you live mo gràidh,
So I can finally remember me,
Knowing that I am not forgotten.
A poem for the Alzheimers Awareness competition and the families of those affected. My heart goes out to you.

'Mo gràidh' *moh gr-ai* means 'my dear' or 'my sweetheart' in Gaidhlig.
